Mistwalker Reveals New Project Coming in Julyby Adam Riley on 06/22/12
The team that brought the world the superb The Last Story on Wii is back with an action surfing game. Developed by Mistwalker, Party Wave will appear in the App Store in mid July.
Founder of Mistwalker, and creator of the Final Fantasy series, Hironobu Sakaguchi, said, "Surfing is one of my hobbies and I'm pleased to make it an iOS game. When the surf is small and many are surfing, surfers sometime catch the same wave and call out "Party Wave!" When I heard those voices, I decided to make this game where game players can experience the shared fun of surfing. It's nearly completed. I hope many people enjoy it when it's available."
Each stage of Party Wave consists of Paddling and Surfing tasks. The paddling task is to get surfers to the surf-breaking spot while avoiding sea creatures, such as dolphins, turtles and jellyfishes. The surfing task is to make surfers turn and catch air without wiping out. All distinctive characters are designed by Kimihiko Fujisaka. There is a time limited Arcade Mode, as well as the regular stages. Also there are boss monsters, secret characters and hidden stages connected from a gathering place.
Should Mistwalker focus on more RPGs instead?
